Hey everyone! 👋

The countdown is on—we are officially hosting our first meeting on Tuesday, August 18th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM!

We’ve been looking forward to getting this group off the ground, and we'd love for you to be a part of it from day one. First and foremost, we are an inclusive, welcoming space for everyone—no matter your background, experience, or skill level, you belong here!

What to Expect:
Help Us Choose a Name! Right now, we're temporarily calling ourselves the "She Shed," but during this first meeting, we'll be brainstorming and picking a group name together that fits and feels right for everyone.

Brainstorming & Connection: Hear about what we have planned, share your ideas, and help shape the future of our community.

Location details: 151 Empire Ave ( Located On The Bonaventure Side Of The Building ) { Red Door }

We want to thank Udhay and Akash for their participation in our recent Plumbing Essentials for Homeowners workshop.

They kindly volunteered their time and provided an amazing hands-on training experience, teaching participants how to handle some of the most common plumbing issues at home.

Udhay and Akash also run their own contracting company, Revival Contracting. We’re happy to share their contact information with anyone looking to start a renovation project and support two skilled local contractors.

Thank you again for sharing your time, knowledge, and experience with our community!

We’re very happy to announce that our upcoming workshop, Plumbing Essentials for Homeowners, has reached full capacity!

We look forward to welcoming all registered participants this Saturday, August 8, at 9:30 a.m

Workshop fees help the St. John’s Tool Library continue offering free weekly community meetings, expand our tool catalogue, and replace older tools that have reached the end of their useful life.

The Tool Library is a nonprofit organization, and your support helps us remain sustainable while making tools, skills, and learning opportunities more affordable and accessible to everyone.

Thank you for supporting the St. John’s Tool Library!

We’ve received the same request on nearly every post—and we heard you!

The St. John’s Tool Library is excited to launch a She Shed: a relaxed, welcoming space for women and gender-diverse people interested in creating, learning new skills, and connecting with the community.

Our opening session will take place:

Tuesday, August 18
7:00–8:30 p.m.
St. John’s Tool Library

This first meeting will be an opportunity to meet one another, share ideas, and discuss which meeting times work best for everyone interested in being part of the group.

We’ll also talk about the group’s name. If “She Shed” doesn’t feel like the right fit, we can brainstorm a new name—and even design a new logo together!

Whether you’re interested in hands-on projects, learning to use tools, sharing your skills, or simply enjoying good company, we’d love to have you join us.

Come meet the group, help shape what this space will become, and see whether it’s something you’d enjoy being part of.

Open to all women and gender-diverse people. No experience is needed.

We’re looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing what ideas we can build together!

The St. John’s Men’s Shed is a community initiative hosted by the St. John’s Tool Library and is part of the international Men’s Shed movement.

The St. John’s Tool Library is a friendly and welcoming space for everyone. Our members can borrow tools at an affordable cost, and we offer workshops that teach practical DIY skills, including plumbing basics, plastering, drywall repair, power-tool use, and more.

We understand that some people have questions or concerns about the Men’s Shed. We are all human, but we must also recognize that certain challenges may need to be addressed in different and more focused ways.

The Men’s Shed movement began in Australia and was later introduced to Canada. In 2026, we began hosting free meetings in St. John’s for men of all ages. These meetings promote connection, friendship, mental health, and overall well-being while helping to challenge the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

At the same time, there is already a “shed” that is open to everyone: the St. John’s Tool Library.

We are also working to create a She Shed—a welcoming space where women can meet, make friends, learn and share skills, work on projects, or simply enjoy a coffee and talk about life.

We are looking for volunteers who would be interested in helping us plan and lead the She Shed. We are also open to suggestions for a different name that better represents the group.

We will provide free training, free access to our space, and free use of our tools to support free meetings for women.

The St. John’s Tool Library is a non-profit, volunteer-based, and community-oriented organization.

Interested in helping lead the She Shed? Visit us during our hours of operation:

Tuesday and Thursday: 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
