Building a more inclusive workforce starts with access to the right supports.

Ontario offers tools, training and employment services to help people with disabilities find meaningful work and thrive in the workplace.

Some of these supports include:
• Finding organizations that provide training and job opportunities for people with disabilities
• Connecting job seekers and entrepreneurs with employment services
• Learning about workplace accommodations and supports available

Employers can also find guidance on creating inclusive workplaces and hiring practices that support accessibility.

Everyone deserves access to outdoor spaces.

Municipalities and businesses must consult with the public when building or rebuilding outdoor public spaces, including:
• recreational trails
• beach routes
• outdoor public eating areas
• playgrounds and outdoor play spaces
• sidewalks and walkways
• parking lots

If you would like to take part in consultations, contact your local municipality: https://www.ontario.ca/page/find-your-municipal-services-office -1

The Facile team is always working to build community connections that support belonging!

Last month, Facile met with other members of the Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network Advisory Committee, in Mitchell, to take part in a Strategic Planning Day.

Attending members included representatives from YMCA of Three Rivers - Stratford-Perth, Partners in Employment - Perth & Huron Counties, Community Living St. Marys & Area, North Perth Public Library, North Perth, A2Z BIZTECH, Stratford Festival and a People First of Canada Youth Advisor.

The Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network Advisory Committee was formed in early 2025, with a goal of supporting youth of all abilities to effectively enter the world of work and build sustainable careers within the communities where they live. Together, the committee is working to build a Youth Employment Network in Huron-Perth.

The Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network will be made up of local employers who embrace and celebrate the contributions of youth in the workforce. The network will work to lay the foundation for a more inclusive and sustainable workforce across our region.

By working together, we can create an environment where businesses can meet their labour needs, and youth of all abilities see the opportunity to build sustainable careers within the communities where they live!

Those interested in learning more about the Huron-Perth Youth Employment Network can get in touch by emailing [email protected]
