It’s Firefighter Friday! Today, we feature Captain Josh Becker and celebrate his 13 years of dedicated service to the residents of St. Marys and the surrounding area. Josh is always willing to take on any task, whether serving as incident command, acting as a sector or safety officer, fighting fires, or assisting with training. He puts his heart and effort into everything he does. Josh served with the Dashwood Fire Department for ten years prior to coming to St. Marys and was an acting captain when he retired from the Dashwood Fire department. His brothers are on the South Huron Fire Department, as a firefighter and one as Fire Chief. Their father also is on the South Huron Fire Department and has been with them for a remarkable 54 years! His mother was also an emergency dispatcher for 15 years. Captain Becker is a knowledgeable and dependable member of our department. Josh plays a major role in organizing community events, including our annual breakfast and Rib and Pigtail Dinner. We want to thank Josh and his family for their ongoing support and service to the fire service and recognize the many events, dinners, and special moments Josh has missed while responding to emergency calls, attending training, or supporting fundraising activities. Keep up the great work Captain Becker.
