Today the AES and AMS Choruses celebrated a year of music making together! We have really enjoyed growing our relationship with the AES music program and are excited to welcome our rising 6th graders next year! Thanks for a great year everyone! Best in Show: Laylah Hart and Hayley Spady’s collaboration on their torn paper collage entitled: “Boondocks” receiving a Viewer’s Choice Award nominated by Staff and Faculty at Ayden Middle School for technical application and craftsmanship! It’s the cleanest collage of the show. Charlotte Pilgreen’s Acrylic Portrait of Misty Copeland entitled: “The Color of Dance” received Best in Show for Acrylic Painting as well as her Acrylic 3-D Georgia OKeeffe inspired painting entitled “Lily”. Madison Bunch received Best in Show for Textiles, and Presley Chappell received Best in Show for her Wire Sculpture entitled: Chameleon.

Congrats to our AMS Knights Orchestra on a great day today at music in the parks! Orchestra received 1st place with a rating of excellent, chorus received 1st place with a rating of Superior, and band received 5th with a rating of excellent! Congrats also to Josiah Harrison who won a student accompanist award!

Even with a bus switch and switched up schedule the kids kept their focus and performed to their best ability! We are so proud of them an how they represented our school today! Be sure to give them a shout out Monday when you see them at school! Way to go knight! This is how we level up!

It’s coming along… 🎨
A team of Student Artists are tackling this monster of a mural on our main hall, and we are tickled at how far it has come! Can’t wait to see this mural finished - anyone know where I can get a plaque to mount the names of the student artists who are working so tirelessly on our main hallway mural? Tag local businesses in the comments if there’s someone local who can hook us up!

We are very proud of all of our Ayden-Grifton attendance area choral students and programs! What a fabulous night of making music! Thank you AES for hosting the spectacular event and thank you Grifton and Ayden-Grifton for sharing in such a wonderful night. We are all very grateful for the support of our community and look forward to when we can do this again. Be sure to check out all of our schools upcoming concerts and watch all of these talented kiddos perform again!

Also, be sure to wish the AMS and Grifton chorus Les best of luck as Grifton travels to Busch gardens on May 1st and AMS goes on May 2nd for the Music in the Parks festivals!

Shout out to our 7th and 8th Grade Studio Artists who had their works on display during the Shad Festival Art Show last week! Jada Foreman brought home 1st place in Painting for her Pop Art Acrylic Dolphin, and Charlotte Pilgreen brought home an Honorable Mention for her Georgia Okeffe inspired 3-D Arylic Painting! Way to go ladies, you represent us well!
