MANDATORY SAFETY SCHOOLS FOR QUADS!!!!
I began MAQ-MOTHERS Against Quads nine months after my 24 year old son Myles DeNora Labrecque was in Quad accident and sustained two Traumatic Brain Injuries. He passed away 2.5 weeks later. I began researching Quads and saw how very dangerous these machines REALLY are.
The RCMP in Windthorst, Saskatchewan where his accident happened will tell you that Myles wasn't drinking, he was wearing a Helmet, he wasn't speeding, and was riding in daylight. It was his first ride on his Quad that day. My son was no stranger to motorized vehicles. He had been an experienced DirtBike Rider for ten years. He was inexperienced on a Quad. His ride lasted an hour. Do the math.
The MISSION of MOTHERS Against Quads!!!! is to pressure the Provincial Governments in Canada to implement tighter Safety Regulations for Quads in the form of Quad Riding Schools and make it illegal for Children under 16 to ride them. MOTHERS Against Quads is also a Public Service, providing information to the public about their dangers.
The VISION of MOTHERS Against Quads!!!! is that all the Provincial Governments will eventually have Mandatory Quad Riding Schools in all the Provinces and that there will also be a specific license required to ride them.
