We currently have about 24 active members, and we meet every second Monday evening to train for all kinds of emergencies. Everything from vehicle fires to grass fires and more. Training regularly helps us stay ready when our community needs us most.
⚠️ Traffic Safety Reminder
Please be extra careful at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 210. We’ve responded to several accidents there over the past few months, along with many close calls. If you can, consider using the Highway 12 overpass as a safer alternative when travelling through
Ste. Anne.
🔥 Wildfire Season Awareness
We recently met with the province to prepare for wildfire season. Conditions can change quickly, so staying aware is key. Did you know embers from a fire can travel 1.6 to 3.2 km ahead and in extreme cases, up to 40 km? That’s why prevention matters.
🏡 Protect Your Home
A few simple steps can make a big difference:
• Create a 30-metre defensible space around your home
• Keep a 1.5-metre non-combustible zone right around buildings (gravel instead of wood chips works well)
• Clean debris from roofs and gutters
• Keep your lawn trimmed (about 4 inches)
• Store firewood and propane away from structures
If a fire is approaching, close all windows, doors, and garage doors to help keep embers out.
📞 When in Doubt Call 911
If you think there may be a fire, don’t hesitate. Call 911 right away so we can respond quickly.
🚧 Driveway Access Matters
Make sure your driveway is wide and clear. If it’s difficult for you to access, it’s even harder for emergency vehicles.
🍔 Spring Reminder
Spring is here! Before firing up the BBQ, make sure it’s clean and in good working condition.
Stay safe and enjoy the season!
