It's a very important day in the Town of Stellarton - June 11 marks William Davis Miners' Memorial Day.

Today, we held a service to commemorate William Davis and the lives of those we've lost in mining accidents. We recognize the significant contributions that miners and their families have had in establishing the town that we know and love today. We remember the bravery and sacrifice of our miners.

A very special thank you to the GR Saunders Elementary choir for performing, Deborah Beck, Postulant with the Anglican Churches of Pictou County, for the for opening and closing our service, to the Christ Anglican Church for hosting a reception, to Councillor Sandra Eis for speaking, and to everyone who came out today to honour and support miners and mining families, to those that laid wreaths in memory, and all those that helped make today's service all that it was.

We will never forget them.

Awareness is the first step in prevention. By learning the signs and understanding the realities of human trafficking, we can help protect vulnerable individuals and strengthen our community.

Help end period poverty and drop off donations at Town Hall or one of the other locations!

Menstrual May is here, and we need your help! 🩷

We're asking businesses and individuals to donate unopened menstrual products at drop-off locations near you. Every pad, tampon, and liner makes a real difference.

Donated products go directly to United Way-funded agencies and community organizations serving women, girls, transgender, and non-binary individuals in your community!
