TOWN OF ST. GEORGE’S – WATER ADVISORY

Residents are advised that there will be an emergency water shut-off beginning at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning to allow for emergency repairs to the water system.

The affected area includes:

* From Steel Mountain Road to the top of Paul’s Hill
* All points in between

Please note: This shut-off will not affect residents on Steel Mountain Road or west of Steel Mountain Road.

Water service will be restored as soon as repairs are completed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding while this necessary work is carried out.

Please share this notice and notify your neighbours in the affected area.

Town of St. George’s – Community Appreciation Message

The Town of St. George’s would like to extend a sincere thank you to the St. George’s Community Garden & Sunset Trail Committee, all volunteers, community members, and partner organizations who contributed their time and effort to the recent work bee at the Community Garden and Sunset Trail.

Your dedication, hard work, and community spirit have helped create a beautiful gathering place that residents and visitors can enjoy for years to come. Projects like this demonstrate what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared vision.

A special thank you goes to Newfoundland Power for selecting the St. George’s Community Garden & Sunset Trail for the 2026 Envirofest Grant. Your generous support, along with the participation of Newfoundland Power employees, has played an important role in the continued development and enhancement of this wonderful community greenspace.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this project a success. Your efforts are helping to create a vibrant, welcoming space for recreation, community events, and enjoyment of the natural beauty of St. George’s.

Clean-Up Week Notice

Clean-Up Week begins today and runs until Friday, June 5, 2026.

Residents are advised that collection trucks will only make one pass through town, beginning today. To ensure your items are collected, all garbage and clean-up materials must be placed at the curb today.

Please ensure all materials are properly sorted into separate piles to assist with efficient collection.

Items placed out after the collection crew has passed your area may not be picked up.

The Town of St. George’s would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Bayview Academy students who recently earned medals at the NL Regional Science Fair.

Congratulations to Lucas Miles of Flat Bay for receiving a Gold Medal in the Senior Physical Science Category for his project, The Potential Future of Parachutes – Inspired by the Art of Kirigami.

Congratulations as well to Rozalind White of Flat Bay for earning a Bronze Medal in the Senior Physical Science Category for her project, Does Water Make a Difference?

A special congratulations also goes to Kaylee and Kloee Blake of Stephenville Crossing for winning a Gold Medal in the Senior Life Science Category for their project, A Study of the Relationship Between Social Media and Self-Esteem in Various Age Groups.

We are also proud to recognize Kaylee and Kloee Blake, along with Lucas Miles, for being selected to represent Team Newfoundland and Labrador at the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Edmonton.

In addition, Kaylee and Kloee Blake received the award for Top Rural Project and were presented with the 2026 Cenovus Energy Indigenous Scholarship valued at $2,500.

To all of our Bayview Academy students, your hard work, determination, and achievements have made your families, teachers, and communities extremely proud. Continue believing in yourselves and celebrating all that you have accomplished — this is only the beginning.
