Wanting some help in identifying this Mary White from Stephenville. She married in 1912 to William Madore. She died in 1918 in St. George's from the Spanish Flu. Age is not known as she is listed as 23 in 1912 (this I am thinking is closer to true) and she is listed as 23 in 1918. Anyone know who are her parents? Thanks Laverne.

Lest we forget.
On November 11 we remember those who answered the call, those who came home forever changed, and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Hugh Carter (1894-1918) left his home in Newfoundland to sign up in Nova Scotia for the 1st Battalion Canadian machine gun corps during World War 1. He wanted to serve as a Canadian Soldier, and Newfoundland was still a British colony at the time. He paid the ultimate sacrifice months before the war ended, and due to tragic family circumstances he was lost to history.
Thanks to the efforts of one of our members, he is no longer lost to history and is honoured each year by his family. Find your story by becoming a member of the Fort McMurray branch of the Alberta Genealogical society: https://www.abgenealogy.ca/become-a-member
