Clearview Public Schools (Clearview School Division #71) is a public education system offering a comprehensive range of programs to serve the learning needs of approximately 2,500 Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12

students in and around the communities of Big Valley, Botha, Brownfield, Byemoor, Castor, Coronation, Donalda, Erskine, and Stettler. Alternate secondary education is provided through an Outreach School in Stettler and within outreach programs through Coronation School and Gus Wetter School (in Castor). Clearview also provides comprehensive Special Education services.

A little more about CARS! 💛

Our CARS team brings fun, evidence-based mental health programming into Clearview classrooms—from the early years through high school.

Programs build skills in emotional awareness, self-regulation, coping, social thinking and healthy relationships, while aligning with several areas of the Alberta Education curriculum.

Our 3 experienced CARS staff bring degree-level education and expertise in mental health-related fields, supporting schools across Clearview as well as community and summer programming.

CARS staff are employed by Clearview Public Schools and primarily funded by Recovery Alberta.

Clearview Public Schools is seeking a School Bus Driver for the Stettler / Big Valley (Stettler 11) route for the 2026-27 school year. Our bus drivers are essential to our schools—ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students while fostering a welcoming and caring learning environment.

Position Details
Regular route for morning and afternoon runs, Monday–Friday
Route: Stettler 11

⚓ Anchored: Every Person Makes a Difference

Yesterday, Superintendent Scot Leys welcomed Clearview staff to the 2026–27 school year with a simple but meaningful reminder: every role matters, and every person makes a difference.

Whether on the bus, in the classroom, in the hallway, or in the office, each interaction can help a student feel safe, supported, and connected. While the work is not always easy, we are also anchors for one another.

Board Chair Guy Neitz also welcomed staff as we head into the new school year.
Never underestimate the difference you make.

I hope everyone has had a chance to enjoy their summer break with family and friends. The calendar may be pointing us back toward school, but summer weather is still hanging on. There is still time for a few more warm evenings, trips to the lake, and attempts to remember where the school backpacks were stored in June.

Across Clearview, the months of August and September are also harvest time. After months of planning, planting, and hard work, our farming communities are beginning to reap the rewards. It is a busy season that reminds us how much patience, perseverance, and teamwork matter. Those same qualities will serve our students well as they begin another year of learning.

Staff are already working hard to prepare schools, classrooms, buses, programs, and supports for the return of students. There is a great deal happening behind the scenes, and we are excited to welcome everyone back.

As summer routines begin to shift, now is a good time to settle back into regular bedtimes, morning schedules, and the familiar search for matching socks. A little preparation now can make those first school mornings easier for everyone.

Whether your child is entering school for the first time, beginning their graduating year, or somewhere in between, we look forward to learning, growing, and working together. Thank you to our families and communities for your continued support of Clearview Public Schools.

📚 Welcome Back, Clearview Teaching and Administrative Staff!

Today, we are excited to welcome our teaching and administrative staff back as they begin preparing for the 2026–27 school year.

Classes begin on Monday, August 31. Families are encouraged to check their school website for school-specific information, including staggered start dates, first-week events, and other important back-to-school details.

📵 SCREEN BREAK TIP: Make the plan before school starts
With one week until the first day of school, now is a great time to talk about screen habits for the year ahead.

If your family is not signing the Unplugged Canada pledge, you can still make a simple screen plan at home. Unplugged Canada encourages families to delay smartphones until at least age 14, but every family can take small steps to build healthy boundaries.

Talk about:
✅ Where phones charge at night
✅ When screens are put away
✅ What happens during homework time
✅ How school phone rules will be supported
✅ What to do if online stress or conflict comes up
✅ Who students can go to when they need help — a parent, teacher, school staff member, or trusted adult

The first week of school is busy. Clear routines help students start the year with confidence. 💙

🎓 Investing in local students. Building our future workforce.

Clearview Public Schools is proud to congratulate Baylee Freimark, the inaugural recipient of the 2026 Clearview Return Service Bursary!

Baylee is pursuing her Bachelor of Education and is eligible to receive up to $10,000 as she completes her studies and works toward returning to the Clearview region to begin her career.

The Return to Service Bursary is about more than financial support. It's an investment in local people, future professionals, and the long-term strength of the communities we serve.

🚌 Bus Route Information Coming Soon!
Clearview Transportation Services is busy putting the final touches on bus routes for the 2026–27 school year.

📧 Bus route information will begin being emailed to families this Friday, including:
- Student pick-up and drop-off times
- Bus stop location
- Driver information
If you have not received an email by Monday afternoon, please contact our Transportation Services office at 403-742-6192 ext 1 for assistance.

We appreciate your patience as our team works to finalize routes and prepare for a safe and smooth start to the school year.

📵 SCREEN BREAK TIP: Talk about phone safety

With just 2 weeks until the first day of school, now is a good time to talk with students about safe and respectful phone use.

Social media, group chats, texts, and photos can move quickly. A simple conversation at home can help students know what is okay, what is not okay, and when to ask for help.

Talk about:
✅ What respectful messages look and sound like
✅ What kinds of messages, photos, or comments are not okay
✅ Why screenshots and forwarding messages can cause harm
✅ When to pause before replying or sharing
✅ Who to go to if something feels uncomfortable, unsafe, or unkind — a parent, teacher, school staff member, or trusted adult

A helpful reminder for students:
💬 “If a message makes you feel worried, pressured, embarrassed, unsafe, or unsure — stop and talk to an adult before responding.”

Open conversations help students build confidence, make safer choices, and know they are not alone. 💙
