Please respect the trail closure.

People are still travelling through the closed trail and construction area east of the Co-op Gas Station in Stonewall, creating a serious safety concern.

The area is closed to all public access due to construction hazards, including equipment, open excavations and trenches.

Please obey all signs, fencing and barricades, use another route, and remind children to stay away. Thank you for helping keep residents and construction crews safe.

🚧 Temporary Trail Closure

Exciting growth is underway in Stonewall! Construction is beginning on the new Steel Creek hotel and Age in Place Campus (Heartwood Commons), along with infrastructure improvements and the future extension of our community trail system.

For safety, the trail and Town-owned property east of the Co-op Gas Station will be temporarily closed during construction.

Please respect all fencing, barricades and signage and remind children to stay clear of the construction area.

Our town signs will shine blue in support of child abuse awareness and prevention. Residents and businesses are invited to join us by wearing blue or adding blue lighting to their spaces.

This October, Stonewall is helping raise awareness of child abuse prevention. Our town signs will light up blue on October 24 as a symbol of support for children and families.

Flags Lowered to Half-Mast in Stonewall

The Town of Stonewall has lowered flags to half-mast at all municipal facilities in honour of Canadian Armed Forces members who lost their lives or were seriously injured following a tragic fire at a military base near Wainwright, Alberta, on Saturday.

This gesture is a symbol of remembrance, respect, and solidarity with those affected by this tragedy.

Our thoughts are with the families, loved ones, fellow service members, and the entire Canadian Armed Forces community during this difficult time.

We honour their service and sacrifice. 🇨🇦

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Town of Stonewall has been awarded 5 Blooms – GOLD at the 2026 National/International Communities in Bloom Awards in Montréal!

But that’s not all! 💛

Stonewall also received a Special Mention for Extraordinary Community Resilience, recognizing the incredible strength and determination shown following this summer’s devastating flooding.

Despite experiencing a historic 1-in-2,500-year rainfall event, our community came together, supported one another, and demonstrated what makes Stonewall so special.
