Our community lost someone yesterday, and their life is worth acknowledging. We often talk about domestic violence as something that happens behind closed doors with friends, family, and neighbours. But it also affects people who are unsheltered. Domestic violence does not discriminate. We do not yet know the circumstances of this person's passing, but I do know they were impacted by domestic violence. That reality deserves to be recognized.I pray they may now rest in peace and be free from the struggles they carried in this life.Times like these are never easy. My Christian faith doesn't take away the sadness, but it helps me carry it. It gives me the strength to get up the next day and continue serving and feeding those who are still with us, still struggling, and still in need of compassion.Today, I will remember this person and the value of their life. They mattered.
