The Stony Plain Public Library is proud to host Elder Phillip Campiou’s Tipi Teachings, which will include spiritual and cultural lessons focused on the tipi, and other land-based experiential Indigenous wisdom. Attendees will participate in the structure and set up of the tipi while learning about the guiding principles associated with each tipi pole.

Elder Phillip will build connections with our participants around the campfire while making bannock and sharing stories on Saturday, September 19th from 10 am - 5 pm.

Meet Your Neighbours: September Spotlight 🥨✨

This month, we’re twisting things up with a visit to Pretzel Shack Stony Plain!

Owned and operated by Anna and Dennis, Pretzel Shack is a family-owned German bakery that has been serving up delicious treats in Stony Plain for almost five years.

Everything is made from scratch, by hand, using the finest ingredients and a whole lot of passion. From their delicious pretzels to their traditional German baked goods, there’s plenty to love — and plenty of reasons to stop by for a tasty treat! 😋

Anna and Dennis have brought a little taste of Germany to our community, and we’re so happy to have them as our neighbours. Whether you’re a long time fan or haven’t had a chance to visit yet, why not stop by and see what they’ve been baking?

After all, life is better with a little more twist in it! 🥨

Stony Plain Public Library is over the moon with gratitude for the gift of nearly 200 brand new Indigenous and French kids' books from . With our Francophone population growing and our residents' interest in Indigenous cultures, we are confident that these books will be well loved! They are heading into processing now but will be available very soon. Please keep your eyes on our New Books display at the front of the library!

That means we read enough to sail from Saint John, New Brunswick around the southern most tip of South America! Way to go!
