The Holborn Area Community Crime Watch Association has over 230 members in the area of Township Road 52 south to the river, & Range Road 10 west to Range Road 50 in the County of Parkland. Our association prides itself on working with the RCMP on preventing crime in our neighborhood.

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The Town of Stony Plain has issued a flood alert.

In effect for the entire Town of Stony Plain.

Heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours has pushed the wastewater system to capacity. The Town has received reports of sewer backups affecting individual homes and businesses. Continued excessive water use may increase the risk of additional sewer backups and flooding.

Everyone in Stony Plain must reduce all non-essential water use. Avoid washing dishes, doing laundry, showering, and other unnecessary water consumption. Limit toilet flushing to essential use only. Businesses must reduce water usage and wastewater discharge where possible. Stay away from creeks, stormwater ponds, and areas affected by high water. All roads, sidewalks, and pathways remain open. Parkland RCMP are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was hit by a truck on Highway 16A.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Highway 16A and Century Road in Spruce Grove on Friday, June 12, at approximately 6:44 a.m. Mounties say the female rider proceeded to make a right turn eastbound onto the highway when she was rear-ended by a pickup truck, causing her to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Upon arrival to the scene, emergency crews discovered the woman lying on the ground near the intersection and treated her for non-life-threatening injuries. She described the suspect vehicle as a white company truck. Police are requesting witnesses with information, or anyone with dashcam video of the incident, to contact the Parkland RCMP.

A 44-year-old resident of Spruce Grove has passed away after a vehicle collision on Highway 16.

Parkland RCMP say they responded to the scene shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision near the Highway 60 overpass. Upon attendance with the Parkland RCMP Reconstruction Unit, an investigation determined that a grey Dodge Durango was traveling westbound on Highway 16 when it struck a stationary scissor lift work platform.

"The driver of the Dodge Durango, a 44-year-old male resident of Spruce Grove, was pronounced deceased on scene," reads a statement from Parkland RCMP. "The construction worker who was in the bucket of the scissor lift was transported to hospital by EMS with serious injuries."
