🎉 Congratulations to Perth County Paramedic Services’ Mobile Integrated Health Team! 🎉

This week at the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association (OMSSA) Conference, the ARC (Access Resource Connection) Program received the 2025 Local Municipal Champion Award 🏆

The ARC team, made up of a Perth County Community Paramedic and an Intensive Housing & Community Outreach Coordinator from City of Stratford - The Municipality Social Services, is being recognized for its innovative, collaborative approach to supporting vulnerable populations through integrated healthcare and social services.

By improving access to care, reducing wait times, addressing social determinants of health, and proactively connecting individuals with supports, the ARC Program is helping reduce emergency calls and hospital visits while building stronger community trust.

This award recognizes the team’s dedication to advancing excellence in human services integration and creating sustainable, people-centered solutions that could serve as a model for communities across the province.

Congratulations Team ARC on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

Perth County extends its heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, and to the entire community of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, during this profoundly difficult time. Our thoughts are with all those affected, including first responders and community members facing the impact of this tragedy.
In honour of the victims and in mourning of this tragic event, flags at the Mitchell Public Works Yard, the Perth County Courthouse, and the Perth County Paramedic Services Headquarters have been lowered and will remain at half-mast for seven days.

We are so pleased to be able to support our community partners at The Local Community Food Centre so more fruit baskets can be given to those in need! 🍎🍊💚

📣News Release: Perth County Paramedics Respond to Community Needs With Support For Local Food Initiatives 🍎

Perth County Paramedic Services’ Community Care Fund is pleased to support The Local Community Food Centre (The Local) with a donation of $2,500 to support the ongoing Fruit Basket Program.

Perth County Paramedic Services’ Mobile Integrated Health Team (MIH Team) has worked alongside The Local from the beginning of the Community Paramedicine Program. The MIH Team hosts clinics that support vulnerable individuals on a weekly basis throughout Perth County by bringing multiple resources to one site to provide wrap-around care.

As the relationship has grown, The Local has provided food in the form of meals, fresh fruit, and even cookies which the MIH Team are able distribute through their clinics throughout Perth County. The ability to distribute food alongside the support services has allowed the MIH Team to build relationships and rapport with vulnerable clients.

“The Local has been an incredible resource and connection point for our MIH Team in the community.” said Debbie Hunter, Deputy Chief of Mobile Integrated Health. “It became clear that supporting the distribution of fresh fruit and food at our clinics was an important way to connect with the community. The whole Paramedic Team is thrilled to be able to support The Local so we are able to continue providing this service to our community. Our MIH program, and the people in our area are consistently supported by the generosity of the Local. The fruit bags are one we can give back to the incredible programming!”

have been responding to multiple collisions and vehicles stuck in snow drifts throughout yesterday and into this morning.

Highway 23 remains closed between Elginfield Rd and Palmerston, although there may not be road closure signs posted at main intersections.

Please limit all non-essential travel as it is possible to get stuck in a snow drift and emergency crews not be able to reach you for several hours.

Sometimes, the best medicine is a good meal and a little holiday magic. ✨🎁

This week, our team used the Paramedic Community Care Fund to bring a turkey dinner and Christmas gifts to patients in our community who needed a boost. 🦃🎄

It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do. This fund allows us to help people in ways that go beyond emergency calls. This can include transportation back home and food vouchers for our most vulnerable patients 🚑🥰🎁
