2026 ELECTION - VOTERS' LIST

Have you received your Voter Information Letter in the mail containing your personalized identification number? If you have, please keep it safe until voting opens on Friday, October 16 at 10 a.m.

If not, it may be because you aren’t on the Voters’ List or your information isn’t correct. You can check to see if you are on the Voters’ List by visiting www.stratford.ca/elections.

If you are not on the Voters’ List you will need to complete an Application to Amend the Voters’ List online or in the Clerk’s Office during regular business hours. You will also need to provide identification showing your name and qualifying address.

Can’t complete the form online or attend the Clerk’s Office during regular business hours before October 26? You can also visit the Voter Help Center at the Rotary Complex, 353 McCarthy Road West on:

* Saturday October 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
* Sunday October 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
* Monday October 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

VOTER ASSISTANCE - 2026 STRATFORD MUNICIPAL AND SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION

Do you need help voting in the 2026 Stratford Municipal and School Board Election?

Come on out to the Voter Help Centre to be located at the Rotary Complex (353 McCarthy Road W) and vote using computers provided on site on the following days:
- Saturday, October 24 from 10 am to 2 pm
- Sunday, October 25 from 1 pm to 4 pm
- Monday, October 26 from 10 am to 8 pm

Voter Help Centres will also be established at the following institutions and retirement homes, exclusively for the residents of those homes or institutions:
- River Gardens Retirement Home
- Greenwood Court
- Anne Hathaway Residence
- Cedarcroft Place
- Spruce Lodge, Woodland Towers and Hamlet Estates
- Windmill Gardens
- Stratford General Hospital CCU
- McCarthy Place Retirement Residence

The dates and times when election teams will be in attendance at these locations are available on the City’s website.

Want to be a Third Party Advertiser for the 2026 Municipal Election?

An individual, corporation, or trade union may file with the City Clerk a notice of registration to be a registered third party for the 2026 Municipal Election.

The deadline to register as a Third Party Advertiser is 4:30 p.m. on October 23.

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Please note that the City of Stratford's administrative offices will be closed Monday, October 12 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The landfill site will be closed Monday, but curbside garbage, recycling and green bin collection will follow the normal schedule.

Stratford Transit buses will not operate Monday.

The Stratford Public Library will be closed Sunday and Monday.

🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 - ON A FLIGHT? KEEP IT IN SIGHT

This is Fire Prevention Week, and the theme this year is “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower.”

The Stratford Fire Department encourages everyone to safely buy, use, charge and dispose of lithium-ion batteries, which can pose fire risks if not handled properly.

🧑‍🚒 TIP: When on a plane, keep devices where you can see them while charging. Do not charge e-cigarettes or vapes on the plane.

Tell a flight attendant if you notice a problem with your device, such as if it feels very hot, starts to swell, is smoking, or has a strange smell.

If a battery overheats or fails, it is important for the flight crew to be able to respond quickly.

Please note that the intersection of Downie Street and St. Patrick Street will be completely closed tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 9) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This temporary closure is to allow for the paving of that intersection.

Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic around the construction area.

The Friday closure is in addition to the existing Downie Street closure currently in effect between St. Patrick Street and Market Place.

On Saturday, October 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Market Square will come alive with a celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

The evening will feature live performances, local food and market vendors, and children’s activities.

All are welcome to attend this free community celebration.

PUMPKIN PARADE

Stratford's annual Pumpkin Parade will be held Sunday, November 1 from 5-8 p.m. in Market Square.

Pumpkins can be dropped off that day after 12 p.m. (noon) behind City Hall.

After the Pumpkin Parade, the pumpkins will be taken to the landfill site for composting.

The Pumpkin Parade is organized by Stratford's Communities in Bloom Advisory Committee.
