📚 A Book in Every Mailbox — St. Marys 📚
We're proud to officially launch a community campaign to support *Dolly Parton's Imagination Library* right here in St. Marys.
Every month, nearly 300 local children receive a book in the mail — something they can call their own. Since launching in Fall 2021, this program has been quietly making a difference in our community, one book at a time.
In that time, our community has raised $220,000 toward a $300,000 endowment fund — and we're in the final push to raise the last $80,000 to fund this program permanently.
Our goal is simple: every eligible child receives books from birth to age 5, for generations to come.

Over $70K has been invested through Stratford & Perth County Community Foundation funds to help build a more accessible community.

This National AccessAbility Week, we’re highlighting projects that are helping remove barriers and create more inclusive spaces:

• Community Living North Perth – Inclusion Place Calming Sensory Room (Stratford-Perth Fund for Humanity)
• L’Arche Stratford TAY Skills Program – Supporting youth and adults with disabilities (Richardson Family Fund)
• Hidden Acres Mennonite Camp & Retreat Centre - Accessibility Upgrades to Improve Programs at – Creating more inclusive spaces (Brian (Barney) Dale Memorial Fund)
• Brain Injury Association of London and Region - Virtual Concussion Program (Brain & Mind Matters Community Fund)

Together, these projects are helping ensure more people can access the spaces, supports, and opportunities they need.

Through a community foundation like the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation, simple giving can take many forms. This includes one-time cash gifts, setting up monthly contributions, or adding to an existing fund over time.

These types of gifts are easy to establish and provide immediate support to local priorities. When directed to endowment funds, they can also grow and continue giving back to the community for years to come.

Consistency is what makes the difference. Regular contributions help create stable, reliable funding that allows organizations to plan ahead and respond to evolving community needs.

Giving does not need to be complicated to be meaningful. It simply needs to be consistent.

Camp Bimini is transforming its washroom facilities into a gender-neutral, inclusive space designed for privacy, comfort, and dignity.

With fully enclosed stalls and private shower areas, the new design will help every camper feel safe, respected, and supported.

This project was supported by the Keith and Frances Culliton Family Fund, Gateman-Milloy Inc. Fund, Jim and Laurel Laughton Family Fund, and the International Plowing Match (IPM) Fund, all held at the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation.

The Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation helped bring comfort, connection, and care to local families through hospice support.

• The Notes of Comfort program brings music, joy, and meaningful moments to families at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth

• The Coping Kits for Kids program, helps children navigate grief with care and understanding.

These programs were made possible through the Forster Family Legacy Fund for Community Giving, Frank and Edda Lang Family Fund, and the Corey and Malory Conners Family Fund.

Because of you, hospice care goes beyond, supporting the whole family. 💛

This new space allows us to continue supporting our community in a place designed to bring people together.

Helping ensure young children and families have access to nutritious food during a time when many households are facing rising costs.

The Food for Families with Young Children initiative delivered by the Huron Perth Health Unit provides grocery gift cards to families enrolled in the Healthy Babies Healthy Children program across Stratford, St. Marys, and Perth County. The program helps bridge the gap between paycheques and food bank visits while supporting the healthy growth and development of babies and young children.

As the Health Unit shared:
“Families say the grocery gift cards help bridge the gap between paycheques and visits to the food bank, ensuring they can put food on the table when it’s needed most.”

This work is supported through the Melanson Family Fund, McGratten Children's Fund, and the International Plowing Match (IPM) Fund, held at the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation.

Additional funding from the John and Colleen MacDonald Family Fund and the Orr Family Fund is also strengthening the Huron Perth Community Directory website, improving access to services across the region.
