โ“What is a Community Think Tank? It's an alternative to traditional debates and meet-and-greets. Candidates and voters sit side by side in moderated, solution-focused, small group discussions on important local issues; allowing people to engage collaboratively as neighbours, informing both voters and candidates while actively building connections and tackling community challenges

Starting next week, the City of Stratfordโ€™s Community Services Department will be testing an innovative device intended to improve the water quality of Lake Victoria.

On Monday, two small yellow buoys will be placed on the water โ€“ one just east of Tom Patterson Island, and the other one just west of the Waterloo Street bridge.

These buoys (known as Equilibrium Modulating Fluids Devices), are designed to help improve water quality by enhancing the natural exchange of gases between the water and the atmosphere.

This helps support healthier oxygen conditions in the water and creates an environment that can help reduce issues such as odour and the buildup of organic material.

The solar-powered devices operate continuously using very little energy, and do not add any chemicals or other substances to the water.

They will be in place until the end of October.
