Wheatland County Community and Development Services has been working at defining the department processes and welcoming new divisions into its services streams. With the addition of the Economic Development division earlier this year the opportunity arose to look at the outward facing activities of economic development and relate them to all the divisions within the Community and Development Services department.
It was decided to develop a tactical brand for the department, not only for traditional economic development purposes, but for promoting the development efficiencies and customer service focus to ratepayers, investment opportunities and tourism product development in Wheatland County.
The brand will be promoted within its own website along with its own social media channels along side the existing Wheatland County website and social media. These communication tools will be used to promote business development and visitation with the Wheatland region. All of the mediums will launch at 1 p.m. October 23, 2019.
The branding name is the WC with the brand tagline of “infinite landscapes – infinite possibilities” which helps define the place of Wheatland and the striving for the potential of the region. The website is infinitewc.ca and a matching hashtag. The social media channels can be found through visiting the website.
“The brand was developed in-house and involved the department, County Council, and the Economic Development Board. It has been designed holistically and has all the communication tools and strategy of innovative service delivery, market the story of Wheatland and our client service message,” says Reeve Amber Link. “This is an exciting time for Wheatland County. We are ready to market that we want to build a diverse prosperous future and welcome visitors to experience why, we as residents and business, have had generations live and prosper here.”
Economic Development traditionally is the liaison between business and municipal aspects of planning and development. The new department brand is the story of the symmetry between the opportunities and the processes within the County.
