motorists that a contractor is set to begin Phase 2 of road patching on Monday, June 15.

⚠🚘 TRAFFIC ADVISORY

The City of Summerside is advising residents, pedestrians, and motorists that a contractor will be replacing storm line and structures beginning on Monday, June 15, with an expected completion date of July 3.

The upgrades will be completed on Granville Street between Ryan Street and Walker Avenue.

During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane on the east side of Granville Street between Walker Avenue and the County Fair Mall entrance, with traffic personnel on-site.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid potential delays. Please obey all construction signage and follow the direction of traffic control personnel for everyone’s safety.

⚾ Baseball Canada Cup Alumni Spotlight ⚾

While better known for his talents on the ice, Mike Commodore was equally as formidable on the diamond, playing with Team Alberta at the Baseball Canada Cup in both 1996 and 1997.

A second-round pick of the New Jersey Devils in 1999, Commodore played 484 NHL games with the Devils, the Calgary Flames, the Carolina Hurricanes, the Ottawa Senators, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Commodore's crowning achievement came in 2006, when he won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.

This August, the next generation of elite 17U Canadian ballplayers takes the field as the Baseball Canada Cup comes to Summerside.

We're just 20 days away from our Canada Day celebrations on Heather Moyse Drive in Summerside, and we'd like to remind you of some of the suggested parking areas for the event!

Parking lots close to the venue include:
⚫ Harbour Quay
⚫ Holland College
⚫ Former Kent Lot (Eustane and Hanover)

The following lots are also accessible, with a longer walk:
⚫ Credit Union Place
⚫ Summerside Baywalk

As parking spaces will be limited, carpooling is highly encouraged.

We can't wait to see everyone on July 1 for a fun day celebrating Canada with headliners Alan Doyle and Matt Mays!

Please be advised that a contractor will be upgrading sidewalk infrastructure beginning on Monday, June 8 and continuing through Saturday, August 15.

The upgrades will be completed on Lefurgey Avenue between Central Street and Granville Street, beginning at the Central Street end.
