Alfred sitting in the sun enjoying fresh grass, surrounded by beautiful purple flowers. What a difference after being kept as a pet in a small cage in an unheated barn where his tail was frozen. We are so grateful that we were able to give Alfred a much better life and companionship with Pierre. This is why we do what we do and this is why we need to build space for more monkeys who deserve a better life. Just this week we have been asked to take three more monkeys who deserve the same care as Alfred. Where are we going to put them? Please donate towards the cost of a new building. .

There is no universal agreement that monkeys recognise themselves in a mirror. However, research has shown that rhesus macaques do tend to know themselves. Boo regularly looks at herself in a mirror, often carrying one around. Here she is checking out her teeth.

What exactly is a lemur ball?
It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like! A lemur ball is when lemurs huddle closely together, wrapping themselves around one another for warmth, comfort and companionship. ❤️
Lemurs are incredibly social animals, and cuddling together is an important part of their social bonds.

Bruno wishing you a great weekend.
