We have our own Punch in little Mishaa who was abused by the alpha in her troop after her mother died during childbirth. We gave her a family when her own family refused to accept her. tuary

Gerdie came from a lab. She and Boo are 2 of the very few lucky ones who have been allowed to retire to a sanctuary. We feel honoured that we have been able to provide Boo and Gerdie the freedoms we take for granted - spending time out doors to sit in the sun and feel the wind on their faces, smelling (or eating) the lilacs. There are thousands more monkeys sitting in labs in Canada - we would like the opportunity to offer a few more of them the same choices. Please help us provide a new chapter to their lives. Well hello there!
Here is Darwin spending time with some of our visitors at our spectacular Open Day yesterday. The weather was gorgeous and most of our monkeys and lemurs came out to see who was visiting this month. Help us give other research monkeys the same opportunity. Cody, Pugsley and Cedric were able to spend several more years enjoying the sun, the grass and each other. At the moment we are full and could not accept any new monkeys. Please donate to our new building fund at www.storybookmonkeys.org so others have a chance to live beyond the lab.

Darwin had a special visitor a couple of weeks ago. CITY-TV came to see how Darwin is doing. The normally shy Darwin came out to spend time with them. In case you didn't see it, here it is:

The baby macaque that was rescued after being found inside a Toronto IKEA after escaping from his owner is now living a quiet life at Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary. He along with over 20 other animals call the sanctuary their home.

Alfred arrived in a tiny cage with a frozen tail and frostbite on his hands and feet. He can now go outdoors whenever he likes and smell the lilacs.
