اگر من خدا بودم...
اگر من خدا بودم، دنیا را این‌گونه نمی‌ساختم...
نه این‌همه جنگ، نه این‌همه آوار، نه این‌همه مادری که هر شب نام فرزندش را میان ستاره‌ها جست‌وجو کند.
اگر من خدا بودم، اشک کودکان را رودخانه نمی‌کردم، تا کوچه‌های جهان از گریه‌های بی‌گناهی لبریز شوند.
اگر من خدا بودم، هیچ زنی با داغ تنهایی سر بر بالین نمی‌گذاشت، هیچ مردی زیر بار فقر شکسته و خاموش نمی‌شد، هیچ پدربزرگی با دست‌های لرزان حسرت یک لقمه نان را نمی‌کشید، هیچ مادربزرگی درد را همدم شب‌هایش نمی‌کرد.
اگر من خدا بودم، ثروت را به دست بی‌رحمان نمی‌سپردم، و مهربانی را بی‌پناه و تنها نمی‌گذاشتم.
اگر من خدا بودم، به هر قلبی همان اندازه عشق می‌دادم که آرزویش را دارد.
چرا یکی را با ده‌ها همراه و هم‌نشین می‌آفرینند، اما از محبت تهی است؟ و دیگری را دریایی از عشق می‌دهند، اما سهمی از همسفر زندگی ندارد؟
اگر من خدا بودم، هیچ قلبی را در انتظار نمی‌گذاشتم.
یادم می‌آید، زمان‌های دور... روزگار مادران و پدرانمان...
نه تلفن‌های هوشمند بود، نه این همه صفحه و تصویر، اما دل‌ها راه خانهٔ هم را بلد بودند.
مردم کنار هم می‌نشستند، دست‌ها به گرمی فشرده می‌شد، خنده‌ها واقعی بود، و فاصله‌ها به اندازهٔ یک سلام کوتاه.
امروز اما، جهان پر از صداست، ولی دل‌ها ساکت‌ترند.
راه‌ها نزدیک‌تر شده‌اند، اما آدم‌ها از همیشه دورترند.
