Picket lines will go up at Vancouver General Hospital on Tuesday, July 7 at 5:30 a.m. PT. BCNU’s Provincial Job Action Committee has authorized an escalation of job action. This targeted action follows the province-wide withdrawal of non-nursing duties and overtime restrictions, and is intended to increase pressure at the bargaining table. VGH members will receive detailed instructions by email before the picket begins, including reporting locations, sign-in procedures and essential services information. For members at all other worksites, current job action remains in effect. More information, including ways to support the VGH picket line, will be shared soon.

I have noticed an update was needed.
While I wasn't successful in my run for Regional Chair this time I am not deterred. I remain committed to supporting members and will try again in the future.
Thankyou to those who supported me, lets keep the pressure up!!!

BC nurses just voted 98.2% in favour of strike action. That's not just a number, that's a statement. ✊BCGEU stands with BC nurses. BC Nurses' Union

Why I’m Running for Regional Chair

I’m running because I care deeply about how our region supports members and stewards—and I’ve seen where stronger support could make a real difference.
Members should expect their Chair to show up, know the work, and stand beside them when it matters.
Stewards should feel supported, not like they’re on their own.
And we should be building strength as we go—mentoring stewards and creating real successorship so people feel confident stepping into these roles.
My years as a shop steward at SMH have prepared me to bring that—clear support, real follow-through, and someone who shows up and does the work.

I'm not running because I love meetings (I don’t) — I’m running because what happens in those meetings matters.

As a full-time steward, I deal with real issues alongside members every day. I’m ready to make sure those experiences don’t just get discussed — they drive the decisions at the regional table.
