Investing in Future Fire Fighters and Community Leaders

The Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society was proud to award $10,000 in scholarships to four outstanding graduates of the 2026 Surrey Fire Fighters Youth Academy.

This year, 32 Surrey students completed the Academy, gaining firsthand experience in the fire service while developing leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. New this year, participants also earned high school credits through Surrey Schools and completed 20 hours of community volunteer service, learning the importance of giving back both on and off the job.

At 7:00 a.m. today, shift change occurred for your Surrey Fire Fighters, with dozens of fathers clocking in and spending Father’s Day on shift.

While many families are gathering for breakfast, heading to the ball field, or enjoying time together at home, our members are answering calls, training, and standing ready to respond whenever they are needed.

For those who work in emergency services, holidays often look a little different. Whether it’s Father’s Day, Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions, many of our members spend these moments serving the community instead of celebrating with their families.

To all of the first responder dads working today, and to the families who support them throughout the year, thank you.

As reported by 1stDueMedia, Surrey Firefighters responded this afternoon to a structure fire in the 9800 block of 132 Street involving a residence that also housed a daycare.

Crews quickly located and contained the fire, preventing further extension and helping ensure all occupants were able to safely evacuate. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society and the White Rock Fire Fighters Charitable Association were proud to present a $100,000 donation to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, representing the fourth installment toward our joint commitment supporting the MRI Campaign at Peace Arch Hospital.

This contribution reflects the ongoing partnership between our two firefighter charities and our shared commitment to strengthening healthcare services throughout the South Fraser region.

Made possible through the support of our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and community partners, this donation will help advance access to critical diagnostic imaging and enhance patient care for thousands of residents who rely on Peace Arch Hospital each year.

We are proud to stand alongside the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation in supporting healthcare close to home and look forward to continuing this important partnership in the years ahead.

Last night, the Surrey Fire Fighters Association was proud to host our annual Members BBQ, bringing together current and retired members to celebrate the strength of our Association and recognize those who have gone above and beyond in service to our members and community.

Building Belonging in Surrey Schools 💙

The Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society was proud to present a $5,000 donation to the Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia in support of their Inclusion Through Connection program.

This funding will help deliver inclusion events and educational programming that promote understanding, accessibility, friendship, and belonging for students of all abilities in Surrey schools.
