This October, join us in standing together to raise awareness, share resources, and take a stand against intimate partner violence.

Under the Purple Lights Nights program, we invite homes, businesses, organizations, and community members across Surrey to:

💜 Wear purple
💜 Hang purple lights & let them shine
💜 Be a light for change

For those who are stepping into the world of employment and empowerment, WEE-R Program can help you empower yourself with relevant skills and job readiness.

Together, we can make a community free from intimate partner violence.

If you or someone you know is struggling, the Fraser Health Crisis Line is available 24/7 at 1-877-820-7444 or 604-951-8855. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911.

🧡 In observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our WorkBC Centres will be closed on September 30. We will resume regular business hours on October 1.

At WorkBC Centre Guildford, WorkBC Centre Newton, and WorkBC Centre Whalley, we wear our orange shirts to honour the children who never came home, the Survivors who continue to share their truths, and the Indigenous communities who are carrying forward the journey of healing and reconciliation.

Today, we encourage everyone to wear orange, listen with an open heart, learn from Indigenous voices, and reflect on the shared responsibility of reconciliation. Together, we can help create meaningful change.

🧡 Every Child Matters.

“At WorkBC, I received comprehensive and dedicated support. When I met my case manager, we created a clear plan to set me up for success. I began with learning computer skills provided by the centre.

I am now very proud to share that I am employed full-time as a painter. I am beyond grateful to be back in the workforce and in a great position to continue my recovery.” - Anonymous
