If someone is trying to pressure, threaten, or scare you into sending money or sharing personal content stop immediately. Do not respond. Do not negotiate. Do not give in to fear.
Extortion scams and online blackmail are becoming more common, and scammers rely on panic to control their victims. The moment you continue the conversation, they gain more power. Instead, cut off communication, block the person, save evidence (screenshots, usernames, messages), and report the incident to local authorities or cybercrime units.
Remember: you are NOT alone, and this is NOT your fault. These criminals target people intentionally and manipulate emotions to create urgency and fear. Stay calm, protect your privacy, and reach out for support from trusted friends, family, or professionals.
Your safety and peace of mind matter more than any threat.
