Exciting news for our region as the Biden Administration recently announced their commitment to a $6.1 billion funding boost for high-speed rail in the Cascadia Corridor. As Surrey's Economic Development Team, we've been advocating for sustainable transportation solutions, and this announcement aligns perfectly with our vision for a connected and thriving West Coast.

It makes sense when you consider that Surrey is the geographic center of our region and has the most opportunity for growth. The City of Surrey, City of Richmond and Township of Langley recently received a 2023 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council.

This award recognized the Supply Chain Resiliency Program, a joint initiative of the three municipalities. The Program identifies existing industrial capabilities that could be changed to support future emergency production needs, and helps manufacturers diversify their businesses.
