Our Party’s Mission:
To elect truly Progressive candidates to BC’s legislature so citizens can have genuine Progress within our democracy and government. We strive to elect representatives who are committed to fighting for the demands and needs of everyday British Columbians. Whether helping families who live in financial hardship with a Guaranteed Income, or creating a fairer system of voting by
removing the capabilities of private interests to influence elected officials. Progressive MLAs will change how government functions to better represent and benefit everyone in British Columbian society. The BC Progressive Party represents genuine Progressive values on which we base our purpose and our policies, such as:
Guaranteed Income for the economic benefit of fellow working class citizens, struggling to get by. Electoral Finance Reform to end the influence of corporations, unions and other private interests. Aboriginal Revitalization to restore Indigenous languages and cultures, enriching our whole society. Green Economics for the sustainability of a strong economy, healthy population and thriving biosphere. But Progress from within government is only an element of our Party’s purpose, as we recognize Progress from outside of government must occur as well. Applying pressure on government internally, with Progressive representatives, as well as externally, with the actions and voices of Progressive citizens, we can make the necessary Progress for BC. The BC Progressive Party understands that continual and permanent engagement in politics by everyday British Columbians, regardless of their political beliefs, is the foundation of a healthy democracy and properly functioning government. The only way to make real Progress happen in British Columbia is by citizens themselves taking a stand for Progressive values, making Progressive demands and taking Progressive action.
