Good news! The Business Retention & Expansion (BR+E) Survey has been extended until June 19, 2026.
Community Futures Yellowhead East, through the Regional Investment Attraction & Marketing Strategy (RIAMS) initiative, is working with local municipalities to better understand the opportunities, challenges, and priorities facing businesses across the region.

June 1st – June 7th, 2026 is recognized as the 40th anniversary of Seniors’ Week in Alberta. It’s a time to take an opportunity to show appreciation for all that seniors contribute to our communities. This includes things like volunteering, charitable work, organizing events, and supporting friends and family. They are a key part of making life better for all in Swan Hills.

Thousands of census employees across the country are helping collect data that are vital to improving the lives of Canadians. These are your family, friends or neighbours making a difference for your community.

If you haven't completed your questionnaire yet and we follow up with you, here’s how to recognize official census communications:

📩 Reminder letters will be sent by mail or delivered in person, which will contain a secure access code to complete the census questionnaire online.

🪪 In person follow-ups will be conducted by employees with an identification card.

📱 Text message reminders may also be sent from the text message short code number 236732.

📞 If a follow-up phone call to a household is needed, the census employees will identify themselves clearly.

The Community Clean Up is this weekend.

Pembina Pipeline will be kicking it off tonight with a free BBQ from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at the Community Park. A big thank you to them for their support!
