Swan River Civil Air Search and Rescue Association CASARA operates in all 13 provinces and territories. Search and rescue responsibilities in each of these Member Organizations is broken down into Zones.

We are a Canada-wide volunteer non-profit aviation association dedicated to the promotion of Search and Rescue awareness, and to the provision of trained and effective air search support services to supplement our National Search and Rescue program. CASARA is a national volunteer organization funded by the Department of National Defence. Our volunteers provide air search assistance to the Royal Ca

nadian Air Force, and promote flight safety for general aviation as a means to reduce overall SAR incidents. We are pilots, navigators, spotters, search coordinators, electronic search specialists, radio operators and administration staff. We are trained to work as spotters on military aircraft, and to carry out searches using light aircraft and ground vehicles. MISSION STATEMENT

The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) will continue to evolve and support the Canadian Search and Rescue (SAR) and SAR Awareness Programs through leadership, continuous training of its volunteers and education of the general aviation community.

The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association of Canada has cooperated with Kongsberg Geospatial and Larus technologies to develop a search and rescue solutions based on AI with deep learning techniques. The missions are to be carried out in remote areas near the Arctic. The search and rescue practice can also be conducted in metropolitan areas. The Charlottetown police found a missing woman with the help of drone using thermal imagery last month. Drone operations can assist rescue teams to narrow down search areas efficiently and effectively, especially under extreme weather conditions.

One blast: "Where are you?" Two blasts: "Come to me." Three blasts: "I need help!"
If you hear any of these signals, respond with one blast. Each blast should last 3 seconds.

CODE INTERNATIONAL DU SIFFLET

Un signal: "Où êtes-vous?" Deux signaux: "Venez vers moi." Trois signaux: "Au secours!"
