ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – MAIN STREET
(9th AVE N to PTH 10/83 INTERSECTION)
October 26 – 29, 2026

Due to a water break, work will be conducted on Main St (@
Thunderhill Motel). Motorists will not be able to pass through.

For through traffic, please detour using 9th Ave North, 1st Street
North, and Highway 10.

Local Traffic may still access businesses and residential streets:

• Accessible going westbound from the Highway 10 Intersection:
o McDonalds, Subway and Thunderhill Motel

• Accessible going eastbound from 9th Ave:
o Qwik Stop, No Frills, Swan Valley Health Centre, Giant Tiger, KFC,
Valley Dental Studio, Swan Valley Collision and Glass, Shivers,
Dufresne, Friendship Centre, NAPA, Fast Gas, A&W, and Home
Hardware.

Program Extension Announcement
Riddell’s Plumbing & Heating Contributes $10,000 to Flood Recovery Assistance
The Town of Swan River is pleased to recognize a generous $10,000 contribution from Riddell’s Plumbing & Heating to support flood-affected residents as they continue to repair and restore their homes following the 2026 flood.
With the Town’s original Flood Recovery Essential Appliance Assistance Program now closed, their contribution will continue as a separate flood recovery assistance program, providing support toward eligible products and services offered by Riddell’s Plumbing & Heating.
In addition to previously eligible items such as hot water tanks and furnaces, this program expands assistance to include sump pits, sewage pumps, water pumps, boilers and backwater valves to help residents address flood-related damage and reduce the risk of future issues.
For approved applicants who have already purchased an eligible product or service from Riddell's as part of their flood recovery, the assistance may be provided as a credit/refund by Riddell’s Plumbing & Heating.
Application Information
• Application deadline: October 30, 2026
• The program is open to new applicants seeking assistance for eligible products and services offered by Riddell’s Plumbing & Heating.
• Residents who have already applied through the Town’s original program for eligible products or services purchased from Riddell’s Plumbing & Heating will automatically be transferred to this program. There is no need to submit another application.
• New applicants must complete the updated application form available on the Town’s website.

Mayor and Council of the Town of Swan River are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred in Wainwright. On behalf of our community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, first responders, and all those affected by this devastating loss.

In times of tragedy, communities across Canada come together in support, compassion, and remembrance. Our thoughts are with the residents of Wainwright as they navigate the difficult days ahead and begin the process of healing.

We recognize the profound impact this tragedy has had on the entire community and stand in solidarity with those who are grieving. May those who have lost loved ones find comfort in the support of family, friends, and their community.
