Summer camp opportunity with ACAP 💧

UPDATE: Thank you for all of your interest in our summer camp! We are once again blown away by how quickly our spots filled up!
Registration is now closed. If you missed your chance this time, please don't hesitate to reach out to us so you can stay informed about future opportunities with Tappy and our Education Team. Happy Summer!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Education Team is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting an ACAP Cape Breton day camp again this summer! 🎉

We will be hosting our outdoor summer camp from July 20th to July 22nd, from 10am until 2pm at Sherwood Park Education Centre and the Baille Ard Trails.

This year, our themes are Water Wizards, Soil Scientists, and Nature Navigators. During day one of the camp, “Water Wizards” will learn about water quality, source water, and the water cycle through a variety of games and activities. On day two, “Soil Scientists” will get their hands dirty and learn about the importance of dirt and what we can find in our soil. Lastly, on day three, “Nature Navigators” will take time to reconnect with the nature around us through fun games and activities.

The camp will take place rain or shine, primarily outdoors on the Baille Ard Trail, with occasional activities inside the school. The activities at the camp are designed for children ages 8-13, however, other youth are welcome to attend if guardians think this is an appropriate opportunity. Guardians are also welcome to attend, although this is certainly not a requirement.

Register at https://forms.gle/A43nuuKZjTUZYgZp7 or scan the QR Code in the poster. Please note that completing this form does not guarantee participation in the camp, as space is limited to approximately 15 youth.

We hope to see you there!

For many men and boys, the pressure to “be strong” can make asking for help feel like the hardest step.

In Canada, men die by su***de at nearly three times the rate of women and are less likely to seek support, often not reaching care until a crisis point.

Join CAMH Foundation for a free 1-hour virtual webinar on men’s mental health, featuring CAMH expert Dr. Omair Husain. This candid session includes a live anonymous Q&A and explores how mental health shows up for men and boys across the lifespan—and what better support can look like.

You’ll also receive the webinar recording after.

Hear from a CAMH expert and learn:

- Why men are less likely to seek help, and what gets in the way
- How mental health can present differently from boyhood to older age
- How depression, anxiety, and substance use may show up in men
- How to start conversations when you’re worried about someone
- What effective, evidence-based care looks like

Whether you’re a man, a parent, a partner, or someone who cares—this conversation is for you.
