💜 Our new donor mural has been installed at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

This mural is more than a wall of names. It is a reflection of the generosity that continues to strengthen health care in Cape Breton – Unama'ki.

Each name on the wall represents a donor, family, business, or organization that chose to give where they live, because they care. Their generosity helps support patients, families, equipment, programs, and care needs throughout the hospital.

THANK YOU to every donor recognized on this mural, and to everyone who continues to support the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. Your Kindness is helping strengthen health care, right here at home.

A special THANK YOU to Sixty Minute Signs for their work on the installation and for helping bring this mural to life. 💜

💜 What an incredible day!

With Jenna celebrating her 30th birthday today and David celebrating his earlier this year, the couple marked this milestone by completing a 30KM run in support of cancer patients, right here at home.

All donations will support the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation’s Tom McNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund, which currently supports up to 130 patients at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre each month.

THANK YOU to Jenna and David for choosing to celebrate in such a meaningful way, and THANK YOU to everyone who donated, cheered them on, shared their story, and helped support this fundraiser.

There is still time to support 30KM for Cancer Care. To make a donation or learn more, please visit:

A $1 MILLION gift from Stuart and Nonie MacLeod is speeding up diagnoses for patients in Cape Breton. 💜

Their transformational generosity is bringing new, state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to the Pathology and Microbiology laboratories at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Helping to purchase eight pieces of vital equipment, including our Island’s first ever Leica Slide Scanner, the MacLeod’s gift will help to significantly improve accuracy and reduce delays in diagnoses and treatment plans, strengthen education, research, and training, and improve patient outcomes.

One example of their impact includes health care experts now being able to diagnose sepsis (life-threatening infection) in 24 hours or less, as opposed to 48-72 hours.

THANK YOU to Stuart and Nonie for their incredible generosity. THANK YOU for giving our Island’s health care experts the tools they need to provide the best possible care, right here, at home. THANK YOU for helping to eliminate barriers to health care in Cape Breton – Unama’ki. 💜

Everyone deserves sunshine💜🌞

Thanks to donor generosity, participants in the CaperBase program (which supports youth mental health) had the opportunity to work together on creating these beautiful floats for the Cape Breton Pride Parade (Pride Cape Breton Society).

The group decided on the theme, "everyone deserves sunshine," and spent weekly sessions creating, designing, painting, and learning about Pride.

Thank you to all of those who continue to support CaperBase, youth mental health on our Island, and our Foundation! 💜

Yesterday was Claire Isabel Burke’s birthday. 💜

Today, we are honoured to celebrate the impact of Claire’s Comfort Closet in the NICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Created in loving memory of Claire by the Burke family, Claire’s Comfort Closet provides essential items and thoughtful comforts to families experiencing a NICU stay.

Inside the closet, families will find baby clothing, supplies, gift cards, sleep sacks, toiletries, memory-making items, and more. There are also books, puzzles, toys, and art supplies to help support siblings and young family members during their visits.

In honour of Claire’s birthday, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Burke family for transforming their love for Claire into something that brings hope and care to so many others.

A sincere thank you to everyone who has donated to Claire’s Comfort Closet and helped make this initiative possible. We are also grateful to Kirstie Horwath Power for creating the beautiful mural that brings warmth and joy to the space, and to City Print + for their work on the design and installation of the commemorative plaque.

Thank you for helping honour Claire's memory by supporting NICU families. 💜

Every donation to Claire's Comfort Closet helps ensure the closet remains stocked with essential items for NICU families when they need them most.
