As our project end date approaches, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners,Destination Cape Breton and the Cape Breton Partnership, for their collaboration over the past few years in supporting the tourism industry of Unama'ki – Cape Breton Island.

Since the group's inception, we have trained over 2,800 individuals and engaged with countless operators across the Island. Through customized training and research, this initiative has provided invaluable experiences and strengthened our sector, enhancing our destination.

Due to impending weather conditions, the CBU Campus and associated offices (500 George, WTI, Membertou and the Nancy Dingwall Health and Counselling Centre) will be closing at 4:00pm.

Nova Scotia Indigenous Tourism Enterprise Network in partnership with the CBU World Tourism Institute and the Cape Breton Island Tourism Training Network is very excited to offer the following in person and online virtual business training courses targeted for individuals and businesses that want to or are already part of the tourism industry.

These business workshops are FREE of charge and target some of the key business training areas as identified by our membership in the past few years. Please Note: You have to register online to attend the session either in person (First 20 registered) or virtually online (open to as many that would like to attend). Registration in person is open to all Mi'kmaw from Unama'ki (Cape Breton) and the online virtual registration and participation is open to all Mi'kmaw from across Nova Scotia.

The six (6) workshops that will target business start ups and business registration, branding your business, business finance, intro to marketing, taxation and your business & building a tourism experience will take place starting Monday, February 10th and will go every two weeks until early April 2025.

Note: The workshops will be held in person at the Wagmatcook Culture and Heritage Centre and the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre on Monday evening's (see dates) with a supper meal from 5:30-6:15 with the workshop starting right at 6:30pm-8:30pm.
