Heading out for an adventure this long weekend? ๐ฒ๐ฅพ
A quick reminder: check the weather, know your route, pack for the conditions, and make sure someone knows where youโre going.
And if Mother Nature has other plans, itโs okay to postpone the adventure. The trails arenโt going anywhere! ๐
Plan ahead, stay safe, and have fun out there! ๐งก
๐ง๏ธ Long weekends are made for adventures.
Maybe you were planning to take in the views at , explore the The Bluff Wilderness Hiking Trail, or climb Mountain for the incredible views in .
But sometimes, the weather gets a vote.
It can be disappointing to put an adventure on hold, but heavy rain can turn a familiar trail into a very different experience. Wet conditions can make rocks and roots slippery, reduce visibility, obscure trail markers, and make it easier to become lost or injured.
If conditions aren't looking great where you're headed, changing the plan doesn't mean giving up on the adventure. It means saving it for a better day.
Use the extra time to get ready for the next one:
โ
Check your gear and replace anything worn
โ
Charge your phone and backup power bank
โ
Download offline maps
โ
Review your route and prepare a trip plan to leave with a trusted friend or family member
โ
Pack the essentials for the conditions you may encounter

Sometimes the best outdoor decision is staying home and preparing for the next adventure.
Blomidon, Bluff and Broad Cove will still be there when the weather improves. ๐ฅพ๐ฒ
