A few changes are on the way for CBRM residents!

Call to Haul

There will be no Heavy Garbage collection this year.

Instead, the CBRM is launching a new year-round Call to Haul Program.

Starting May 1, residents will be able to contact the municipality to schedule a pickup of up to 5 large bulk waste items. Once registered, residents will receive a pickup date and instructions on how to place your items at the curb.

Please do not place items at the curb until you have a scheduled appointment.

Residents can use the program multiple times throughout the year, but only 5 items will be collected at a time.

More updates, including a full list of what items can be collected, will be shared as we get closer to launch.

Residential Tipping Fees

New residential tipping fees will come into effect at the Waste Management Facility on SPAR in Sydney, and the Waste Management Facility in North Sydney starting May 1.

Residents will pay:

• a flat rate of $5 per vehicle for up to 100 kg of residential mixed waste

• or $8 per 100 kg of residential mixed waste

Payment will be available on site.

Before you visit!

Residents are encouraged to check the CBRM website or the Solid Waste App to see what goes where before heading to a waste management site. Many materials can go in regular curbside collection, and some items may be eligible for the Call to Haul program instead.
