THATS A WRAP :) Our Affirming Access project is now officially complete. We’re incredibly proud of everything this project accomplished while it was active.

A huge thank you to the DAWN Fund for making this initiative possible from the start, and to United Way Cape Breton, one of our major funders, for their ongoing commitment to supporting community driven work across the island. Their support allows us to reach people who need these resources most, and we’re deeply appreciative.

Although this project has wrapped up, we will be exploring new funding opportunities to keep this work going. The momentum is here, the community is here, and we’re excited about what comes next. Keep an eye on our social media for updates and future plans.

ATTENTION: We truly thought this project would last for months, but the need in our communities has been so strong that our funding has moved much faster than expected. We are now down to the last little bit of funding for our Affirming Access Cape Breton program.

Join Hanley and Wren from HEAL NS (Health Equity Alliance of Nova Scotia) for this 2S/TGNC closed-space conversational workshop where we will talk about navigating the realm of s*xual health as a trans* person. We'll look at accessing services, STI testing, and how to stay safe and feel good while having s*x.

Please note that this is a closed-space event for Two-Spirit, Trans, and Gender Non-Conforming folks

We want to give a huge thank‑you to United Way Cape Breton for approving this year's Community Investment Fund and continuing to support the work we do. Their funding makes it possible for us to deliver all of our public education programs and community initiatives.

United Way doesn’t just help financially. They show up in real, practical ways too, like choosing us to receive menstrual products for community distribution. Their summer students recently dropped off a donation of Diva Cups just as our supply was running out.

We’re grateful for their partnership, their trust, and the way they continue to invest in the wellbeing of people across Cape Breton.

United Way Cape Breton participated in Menstrual May again this year. One of our summer students, Kennedy (pictured holding the box) successfully completed a grant application from DIVA’s Impact program, receiving 60 diva cups of various sizes along with information pamphlets. All products collected were donated to the Cape Breton Centre for S*xual Health to help fight period poverty in Cape Breton. Vanessa, ED at Cape Breton Centre for S*xual Health and summer students, Maggie & Morgan are also pictured.

Affirming Access CB
A new, low‑barrier support program for trans, two‑spirit, and gender‑diverse folks in Cape Breton.

Whether you need help with groceries, a bill, or support getting off‑island for gender‑affirming care, we’re here to stand beside you with dignity‑centered, community‑led support.

This program is made possible through the generous support of the DAWN Fund.

Please note: Funding for this program is limited, and support will be offered on a weekly cycle based on available resources.

THEY'RE FINALLY HERE!!!!

Our brand‑new S*x Over 60 guides have officially arrived, and we’re a super excited about it.

Getting older doesn’t mean the questions stop, it just means the conversations get wiser, funnier, and way more interesting. So The S*xual Health Nova Scotia Network has created a 44 page guide that’s supportive, clear, and full of real‑talk information for adults who deserve great s*xual health at every age.

And the best part?

We also offer a presentation to go with it. It's engaging, educational, and yes… super fun. Perfect for senior centres, community groups, wellness programs, or anywhere folks gather to learn and laugh together.
