We invite our parents/families to join us to either run, walk, or watch our Terry Fox Run on September 17. If you are joining, meet at the front of the school at your child’s designated time.
We kindly ask that pets are kept at home. The front loop will be blocked off from parking, as we need this as a safe gathering area for our students.

All children are encouraged to donate a toonie or whatever you are able. Money can be brought in on or before the 17th. We also have an online donation link this year - https://schools.terryfox.ca/136318. Our goal once again is a Toonie a person or about $1000.00.

Online permission forms for the run will be sent out in early September. Be sure to complete it, so your child can join!

Be sure your child wears proper clothing to run in, as well as outdoor running shoes.

The race will be held rain or shine! However, if the weather is very extreme, cancellation of the run will be posted on our SWES page. Come and join us!

Criminial Record check time! If you are planning to volunteer on field trips or at the school please make sure you have an updated Criminal Record Check.

The Sylvan Lake RCMP Administration Team will be down at the Fun Fest Info Fair on September 3 doing criminal record and vulnerable sector checks. If you require a criminal record check for any of the following...

📝 employment purposes
📝 coaching
📝 volunteering for field trips
📝 classroom volunteering
..come visit us in the Multi-Purpose Room at the NexSource Centre with 2 pieces of government issued ID and your letter from the organization you will be volunteering for (letter NOT required for employment-based checks).

Please note that you must reside in the Sylvan Lake RCMP jurisdiction in order to have your criminal record and/or vulnerable sector check completed.

First, we want to wish a very happy retirement to the legendary Mrs. Hann! Thank you for 32 years in Education. Your incredible dedication, your wisdom, and the unforgettable impact you’ve made on so many students and families over the years.

We are also bidding a very happy retirement to our wonderful Educational Assistant, Mrs. Carrick, after over 17 amazing years of dedicated service! Lorrie, your patience, kindness, and unwavering support in the classroom have truly changed lives.

End of an era! 🍎✨

Today, we want to extend a massive, heartfelt congratulations to our incredible Principal, Ms. Eadie-Gyori, who is officially retiring after an astounding 39 years in education!

For nearly four decades, Ms. Eadie-Gyori has been a leader, a mentor, and a champion for countless students, teachers, and families. Her dedication to our students and creating a supportive, thriving school environment has left a lasting mark on our school culture and our Sylvan Lake community.

Thank you, Ms. Eadie-Gyori, for your unwavering leadership, your wisdom, and your kindness. You have truly changed lives. The staff and students at Steffie Woima send you best wishes on your well-deserved retirement. You’ve earned every single second of it!
