Due to current hot, dry conditions and continued dry weather in the forecast, the Municipal District of Taber has issued a Fire Advisory for all municipal boundaries, effective immediately and until further notice.

While the Fire Advisory is in effect, residents and visitors are advised that there is an elevated risk of wildfire. Fire permits will continue to be issued; however, anyone conducting a controlled burn is urged to exercise extreme caution and closely monitor conditions at all times.

The Municipal District of Taber will continue to monitor weather and fire risk conditions and will adjust the advisory as necessary. The goal of the advisory is to raise public awareness of the increased fire danger, help protect people and property, and reduce the risk of costly emergency responses.

This afternoon Stations 1 Hays, 3 Enchant, and 5 Vauxhall were called to a grass fire. The Station’s worked together to extinguish the fire.

This fire marks Firefighter Thomas Redekop’s first fire with Station 1 Hays. He did a fantastic job. Thank you Firefighter Redekop for answering the call.

The M.D. of Taber Regional Fire Services is pleased to acknowledge a generous donation of $10,000 from TC Energy in support of firefighter turnout gear.

TC Energy representatives recently attended the Enchant Fire Station to deliver a presentation on their Emergency Management System and to highlight their collaboration with the Municipal District of Taber and Regional Fire Services. Members from Station 3 (Enchant) and Station 5 (Vauxhall) were in attendance.

Following the presentation, TC Energy presented the donation, and members gathered for a photo with the cheque.

The MD of Taber Regional Fire Services is grateful for this generous contribution and for the continued support of community partners such as TC Energy. Investments like this help ensure firefighters have the equipment they need to serve and protect our communities safely and effectively.

🚒 Congratulations to 👨‍🚒Firefighter Daniel Friesen on responding to his first call with Grassy Lake Fire Department. Every firefighter remembers the first time the pager goes off and the excitement of responding to help the community.
