Canada Nunavut Housing Benefit (CNHB)….
The (CNHB) program - Is a new program under NHC
Purpose: It provides a monthly benefit to eligible homeowners, to assist them with the high cost of operating their own home and keep them in stable housing
It covers cost such as utilities, insurance, deposits and furniture.
Benefit
The program provides a $600 per month benefit that is not included in the eligible homeowner’s taxable income. Only one benefit is available for each physical address.
Payment mode
The benefit will be made by direct deposited to a Canadian bank account in the name of the homeowner or on a joint account. Only one applicant will get the monthly benefit
Who Can Apply? This program is for those who meet the eligibility
> Applicants must own a home in Nunavut, occupy the home as their principal residence and have been a resident of Nunavut for at least one year.
> Government of Nunavut (GN) employee’s eligible or receiving the Nunavut Housing Allowance (NHA) are ineligible for the CNHB Homeowner Benefit.
> There will be one benefit per physical address.
> Households below NHC’s income threshold: $198,471
