Saugeen Conservation Saugeen Conservation is one of 36 Conservation Authorities across Ontario dedicated to looking after the renewable natural resources on a watershed scale!

Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) is one of 36 Conservation Authorities across the Province of Ontario, that looks after the natural resources on a watershed scale. The SVCA jurisdiction includes the Saugeen, Penetangore and the Pine River Watersheds. This is an area of over 4,675 sq km or 1800 square miles.

🌲✨ From October 6–8, Allan Park Conservation Area’s west side and road allowance will be closed to the public as we host the 13th Annual Bruce Grey Forest Festival.

This incredible event welcomes over 900 students for three days of hands-on outdoor learning — sparking curiosity, building skills, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for nature.

We thank our community for their support and understanding during this closure. By making space for these students, you are helping to inspire the next generation of conservation leaders. 💚

🪰Spot it? Snap it, catch it and report it!

The first detection of the Spotted Lanternfly has been confirmed in Canada. Spotted lanternfly have been regulated in Canada since 2018 as they can feed on more than 100 species of trees and plants.

What you can do?
If you think you have seen the spotted lanternfly or its egg masses:
▪️take a photo or video
▪️catch the insect or scrape the egg masses and put it into a sealable container
▪️report it to CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) by visiting inspection.canada.ca

🚧 Construction work will be taking place along the Paisley D**e by the Queen Street Bridge to address erosion and maintain the integrity and function of the flood protection system.

Construction equipment and crews will be operating in the area, and portions of the d**e will be temporarily closed while work is underway.

For your safety, please:
▪️Stay clear of active construction areas and equipment
▪️Follow all posted signs, barriers, and directions from workers
▪️Keep children and pets away from construction zones
▪️Avoid accessing the d**e where temporary closures are in place

These works are important to maintaining the d**e as a critical component of the community’s flood protection system.

We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation while this work in completed.
