This past weekend was the annual “Ling Fling” here on Temagami which raises money for our walleye fish hatchery here in town. If you have never been it’s an absolute blast with our great community we have here😁Our efforts this weekend raised over $5000 for our little hatchery 🐟🥚!! For anyone who couldn’t make it let’s try and keep the pot growing with the annual🧊🧊 “Ice Out Contest” 🧊🧊

This contest is available to anyone who would like to cast a vote until April 1st! Folks at the ling fling had first dibs on dates but we will accept up to 5 votes per square. Half of the total will be divided to the winners and the other half will be donated to the fish hatchery 👏👏

Please send us a message with your date and we will send e-transfer instructions. Voting in the comment section will not be deemed official so please send us a direct message or email us at [email protected] and we will add your name to the board!

Last year ice out was May 8th. We are currently sitting around 24 to 32” of ice and about 3ft of snow insulating it currently. As you can see lots of folks feel we will be ice fishing for opening weekend on the May long weekend. And I don’t think they are wrong!! Cast your vote today!!

🎣 The annual TAFIP Kids Fishing Derby is back this August Long Weekend! 🎣
Join us Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Temagami Waterfront Docks from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

This FREE event is open to kids 13 years old and under!
🦺 All children must be supervised by an adult and wear a life jacket.
📍 Registration takes place at the Hatchery Building from 9:30 to 11:30 am.

🐛 Worms are supplied
🎁 Every child gets a prize
🌞 Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat!
🌭 Free BBQ for kids (adults by donation to the hatchery)

🎣 If you have your own fishing rod and tackle, please bring it. If not, we’ve got extras available!

We can’t wait to see you there for a fun morning on the lake!

The BBQ is free for children, and adults must provide a donation to the hatchery for their lunch.

If you have your own fishing rod and tackle, please bring it along! If not, we will have a supply of fishing rods. We supply the worms! 🪱
