All power has been restored, if you are still experiencing a power outage please call in. Unfortunately, some of our members were without power for an extended period of time as a result of the transmission system (Altalink/Fortis) operator having extended downtime due to high winds causing considerable challenges with trees on the line and other weather related problems.

If you called in requesting a call back and were delayed in our response, we apologize if your call wasn;t returned as promptly as you expected as our Lineman were very busy in the field working to restore power to all.

Meet Our Board of Directors | George Brodniansky

George has lived and farmed in this community his entire life. That kind of rootedness does not just build character, it builds trust, and it is exactly the kind of perspective that belongs on a cooperative board.

Before joining the North Parkland Power Co-op Board of Directors, George served on the Thorhild County Recreation Board and as a board member for the ABNT REA. He played an active role in the amalgamation of the surrounding REAs that came together to form North Parkland Power REA, helping shape the co-op into what it is today.

George represents the ABNT area on the Board and takes that responsibility seriously. In his own words, he prides himself on respecting the collective decisions of the Board while striving to be a strong, thoughtful voice for member-owners across all service areas.

That is what democratic governance looks like in practice. Real people, from the communities they serve, making decisions together.

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We pause to honour the survivors of residential schools, remember those who never made it home, and acknowledge the ongoing impact that these events have had on Indigenous peoples, families, and communities across this country.

We encourage our members and communities to take time today to listen, learn, and reflect.

Some things have changed over the years. The dedication has not.

Looking back at this old photo of our crew reminds us of just how much has been built, maintained, and restored by the hands of NPP lineworkers since 1951. The equipment is different, but the commitment to keeping rural Alberta powered is exactly the same.

We are proud of everyone who has worn this uniform, then and now.
