As the land continues to awaken, so do we. 🌱

Join us on May 30 from 10 AM – 12 PM for our next Spring CommUnity Gardening Gathering at the Unity Garden.

As we continue tending the garden together, we will also be caring for the sweetgrass and opening space for new growth in a good way. We are also happy to share that Jesse will be bringing Unity Garden seeds for our annual seed exchange, offering another beautiful way for community to share, plant, and grow together.

Spring continues to teach us that renewal is not only about growth, but about remembering our place within creation and our responsibilities to all living things.

We invite all gardeners to come in unity to tend the plants, reconnect with the land, and share in friendship, learning, and community. Please dress for the weather and bring your gardening tools if you wish.

We look forward to gathering with you.

As the land continues to awaken, so do we. 🌱💗☀️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out on May 16 for our Spring CommUnity Gardening Gathering at the Unity Garden. It was a beautiful, warm circle — a time for meeting new people, sharing stories, learning together, and spending meaningful time with the land and one another.

We are now looking ahead to our next gathering on May 30 from 10 AM – 12 PM, where we will continue cultivating the garden and working gently with the sweetgrass as part of caring for and opening the beds in a good way.

Spring continues to teach us that renewal is not only about growth, but about remembering our place within creation and our responsibilities to all living things.

Come spend time in the garden with us as we reconnect with Mother Earth, with one another, and with this beautiful shared space. Please dress for the weather and bring your gardening tools if you wish.

We are looking forward to coming together this Saturday, May 16 from 10 AM to 12 PM for our Spring CommUnity Gardening Gathering at the Unity Garden. 🌱

This week, we will be gently opening up some of the garden beds, with a special focus on the sweetgrass that has been growing so beautifully. As part of caring for the garden in a good way, we’ll be thinning and sharing some with community. If you would like to bring some sweetgrass home, please feel free to bring a few planting pots.

As always, everyone is welcome. Please dress for the weather and bring any gardening tools you may have. We look forward to spending time together in friendship, gardening, songs, teachings, and care for Mother Earth.

Come gather in community this season at the Thorold Indigenous Unity Garden located at Mel Swart Conservation Park in Thorold. 🌿🧡
Beginning in May, we’ll be coming together for community gardening days, youth gatherings, cultural teachings, and special events that celebrate connection, learning, and growing together in a welcoming space for all.

We are especially honored to host our featured event, Braiding Our Stories, in celebration of Indigenous Month and in loving honor of our dear Elder Albert Choken ♥️🙏🏼♥️

Whether you’d like to learn, share knowledge, grow food, meet new people, or simply spend time outdoors in community, you are warmly welcomed. 🌎

What a beautiful Spring Awakens Gardening Gathering we shared today at the Unity Garden.

It was wonderful to see everyone again after the long winter, to catch up, put our hands back in the soil, sing together, and offer love and nurturing to the garden as the new season begins. Days like this remind us that the garden is so much more than a place to plant. It is a place of community, care, laughter, healing, and reconnection.

It was also so special that we were able to FaceTime Natalie Blueraven Rubyhill in Scotland so she could join us in circle from afar. What a beautiful reminder that the roots of community can stretch across many places and still remain strong.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out today and gave your time, your energy, and your good spirit to Mother Earth and to this shared space. Your presence helps keep the Unity Garden growing in such a beautiful way.

Please mark your calendars for the weekend of May 16 as we come together once again.
