We’ve upgraded the technology behind the City’s website to give us better tools to make information easier to find, understand and use and to better share the work happening across our community.

The transition begins at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, and the website may be unavailable or unreliable for approximately 5–10 minutes while we make the switch.

You won't see huge changes overnight. Monday’s launch is the beginning of an ongoing effort to make thunderbay.ca more useful for residents and visitors.

We’ve done our best to make sure thousands of pages, links and files transition smoothly, but with a website this size, we may not catch everything. If you spot a broken link, error or something that doesn’t look quite right, please let us know at [email protected]

Leaf & Yard waste curbside collection begins soon!. Your first of two collections is between Oct. 6 & 16, on your recycling day. Start now and clean up your yard – trim your trees and bushes, and bundle your brush. Bundles of sticks must be one metre or under; all items must weigh less than 18kg. Questions? In the days leading up to and on September 30, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, there are many opportunities across Thunder Bay to come together in remembrance, reflection, learning and community.

We encourage community members to take part in the gatherings, walks, ceremonies and events being hosted to honour Survivors, their families and communities, and to remember the children who never returned home.
