Big news for Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.
The Ontario government is investing over $644,000 into Ironworkers Local 759's Training Centre right here in Thunder Bay, expanding capacity to train up to 150 additional structural and ornamental ironworkers over the next five years.
What's new at the facility:
• Brand new modern classroom
• New dedicated welding space
• Hands-on and in-class training combined
• Clear pathway from high school to a skilled trades career locally
Over 400,000 skilled trades workers will be needed across Ontario in the next decade. Northwestern Ontario is growing, and Local 759 is making sure the workforce is ready for every project coming this region's way.
