WHY DO RAILWAY WORKERS HOLD HAND? Because, on June 1, 1875 no one brought a camera to the birth of the CPR; so, in 1888 photographer Cooke from Prince Arthur's Landing snapped this shot - and beneath where they hold hands is exactly the spot where the trans-continental railway to unite Canada from Atlantic to Pacific was officially started.
