Members of 38th Brigade and the LSSR took part in their field portion and final weeks of their Co-op BMQ with live ranges and gas hut at Camp Ripley. Congratulations to these troops on nearing the end of their BMQ.

Proud moment for the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment, at the 2026 Boots on the Ground Charity Hockey Tournament, this past weekend.

The LSSR squad joined by members from supporting Garrison units and HMCS Griffon finished the round robin with a strong 2–1 record, earning wins over TBay Firefighters and NAPS, and dropping a tight matchup against Youth Offender Services.

That effort secured us a berth in the bronze medal game, where the team battled hard and came out on top with a gritty 2–1 victory over a second TBay Firefighters team. Safe to say… we got TBay Fire’s number this year.

Huge thanks to all the troops, officers, and NCOs who laced up and supported the team. Special shoutout to Sgt Biscardi and Sgt Challinor for leading the LSSR Sports Committee and doing a fantastic job organizing and driving our sports programs.

And of course, appreciation to the LSSR Senate for their continued support and contributions to all LSSR sporting events.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for reflection and learning.

Today we feature a special version of our 38 Canadian Brigade Group Badge in an Indigenous art style known as Woodlands Art. This style is common amongst First Nations Artists in our Area of Responsibility.

Aujourd'hui, nous présentons une version spéciale de l'insigne du 38e Groupe-brigade du Canada dans un style artistique autochtone connu sous le nom d'art des bois. Ce style est courant chez les artistes des Premières Nations dans notre zone de responsabilité.

Members of the LSSR were chosen to serve as honour guards at the opening ceremony for Thunder Bay summer in the parking lot, concert series. This event was put together by Superior Multicultural Music Development Society.

The LSSR has a long standing of service to our community and as always, honored with the privilege.

Congratulations to Sgt Challinor, MCpl Hillock, MCpl Biscardi and Cpl Rooney.
