The level of insane allegations and screeching I've received from people here is incredible, and really shows how people are addicted to internet outrage and drama. More amazing are the many positive comments that have been written to me in support. Both prove that there is a real need for a true Conservative voice in this city.
I'll be changing the page name shortly (these things take time on FB), and I will be publishing my first essay this weekend. If discussion of politics from a conservative perspective is not something that interests you, then I invite you to unlike this page and never be troubled by it again. I see this platform as a natural extension of the conversations that I frequently held in my shop, where friends and I often debated and philosophized about every topic we felt was important enough for our attention. Because it was MY space, we did so without fear of tone-policing by those who would seek to make themselves the arbiters of acceptable discourse.
A note on the Flag: A few short days ago it was Remembrance Day. In case you've forgotten, that's the day when we honour those who sacrificed so much, many of them with their own lives, to preserve our way of life. My grandfather fought, and he did so under the Red Ensign. If this flag offends you then you don't deserve to enjoy the freedoms and prosperity afforded by those who fought so that we may live.
