Today, we’re recognizing Falls Prevention & Exercise Day!

Staying active is an important part of healthy aging. Regular exercise can help older adults maintain strength, balance and mobility, which can reduce the risk of falls and make everyday activities feel safer and easier. Our senior fitness classes are designed to help you keep moving in a safe and welcoming environment.

Today for Community Support Month, we’re recognizing the important role of Respite Services.

Caring for someone you love can be incredibly meaningful, but caregivers need support too. Respite care gives family caregivers time away from their caregiving responsibilities, with the reassurance that their loved one is in caring and capable hands.

We’re proud to provide respite services that support not only seniors, but the family members and caregivers who are there for them every day.

This is an important day during Community Support Month, because it kicks off Community Care Worker week, giving us the opportunity celebrate the incredible people who make community support possible.

Our PSWs provide essential care to seniors and people with disabilities throughout our community. Their work is personal, demanding, and incredibly important. They help with everyday needs, provide reassurance and companionship, and give clients the support they need to continue living safely and independently at home. Behind every visit is a person who shows up to listen, help, encourage, and makes a difference in ways both big and small.

To our PSWs: thank you for the care you provide, the relationships you build and the commitment you bring to this work every single day. We are so grateful to have you on our team!

We’re excited to share a little more about what’s ahead at the Delhi Friendship Centre!

As Stonebridge Community Services and Norfolk County prepare to begin their new partnership, the same great programs and activities will continue, with some new additions to look forward to!

The fall schedule includes FUNctional Fitness, Chair Yoga, Ready, Steady, GO!, Co****le, Shuffleboard, Meet Me in the Kitchen, Karaoke, and more!

Meet us at the Delhi Friendship Centre Tuesday, October 6th for our first day! We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
